The Old Market Of Khan El-Khalili

The Khan El-Khalili is home to the the Middle East’s most interesting bazaars.

Named after Prince Jaharkas Al-Khalili, one of the most powerful Mamluke Princes of the 14th century, this bazaar is famous for it’s unusual, souvenirs and handmade crafts. This traditional market’s Medieval atmosphere, together with the labyrinthian streets, gives visitors a glimpse into what markets were like centuries before.
The bazaar has bountiful cafes, restaurants, shops, plus a large number of vendors and buyers. Be sure to try, the Hibiscus, Karakare, Helba, or any of the various  Egyptian beverages, which will offer to visitors a true egyptian experience. Smokers can try the Shisha, or water pipe.

All visitors can safely enjoy walking through the narrow streets of Khan El-Khalili. We strongly recommend visiting this vivid bazaar, but keep in mind that in open traditional markets, the prices are not set in stone. You always want to remember to bargain for the best price, all vendors will expect this and it can be pretty fun! The Khan El-Khalili Bazaar is a place where art and commerce come together to enjoy a unique and, harmonious experience.
