Mustafa Mahmoud Mosque is located in the city of Mohandessin, in the middle of the League of Arab States Street. It is one of the most important streets in Giza Governorate . The mosque is of medium size in terms of area and has gained its importance from the amount of financial and in-kind donations it provides to the poor. High degree of efficiency, this is not the most beneficent table serving food to passers-by and the poor in Ramadan.                                                                               

The mosque also includes three medical centers and a hospital that is concerned with the treatment of people with low incomes and is intended by many of the people of Egypt due to its good medical reputation, and medical convoys consisting of 16 doctors, and the astronomical association of the famous Mahmoud Mosque which includes four astronomical observatories and a geology museum are branched from the mosque . It includes professors who give lessons in astronomy and space science . The museum includes a group of granite rocks, butterflies stuffed with various forms and some marine creatures.

The mosque is also famous for organizing annual festivals at major religious occasions such as the Hijri New Year, the Prophet’s Birthday, attended by elders from leading scholars of Al-Azhar and local leaders such as the governor of Giza and members of the local and influential council.

The mosque also organizes large arenas to perform the two Eid prayers, which accommodate thousands of people who come from different regions to attend the prayer, and the speeches are attended by elders from the Ministry of Awqaf.
